BELLEFONTE, Pa. (WJAC) — A dentist from Bellefonte who was acquitted of rape and kidnapping charges in July was named in a civil lawsuit by his alleged victim, according to Centre County court officials.
Wade Newman, former owner of Bellefonte Family Dentistry, was charged in March 2017 when the woman said Newman drove her home after a procedure then forced himself on her.
The attack is alleged to have happened in October 2016, according to the Center County District Attorney's Office.
Federal authorities announced Friday that a sexual harassment lawsuit has been filed against the owner of several rental properties in the Falls Creek area.
Officials say Timothy Britton, the operator of Britton Enterprises LLC, which also goes by the name “Tim’s Apartments,” is alleged to have sexually harassed and retaliated against female tenants for several years.
The lawsuit claims that Britton has repeatedly made unwanted sexual comments towards female tenants, inappropriately touched them and requested sexual contact from them.
Laurel Hill State Park is not accepting new arrivals to its campground because the conditions are unsafe after a storm knocked over trees, light polls, and power lines Thursday night park officials said.
They said it is not known right now how long the campground will be closed.
"Making sure that our campground is safe for visitors is our number one priority right now," Assistant Park Manager Kelsey Hope said. "
ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WOLF) — A vandal reportedly broke into a mink farm in Pennsylvania, setting thousands of mink loose in the area.
State Police said Richard H. Stahl Sons in Rockefeller Township was vandalized sometime between midnight and 6:50 a.m. on Sunday.
It was reported that an unknown person cut holes in the fence surrounding the mink farm, releasing approximately 6,000 to 8,000 mink from their pens.
Numerous state agencies and farm staff are currently working on recovering the mink that escaped the fence, troopers said.
