Altoona Curve baseball team welcomes Diamond Baseball Holdings as new owners, marking end of Lozinak

The Altoona Curve baseball team announced new owners on Wednesday. The minor league affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates will remain in Altoona, according to a release sent by the team. The team said Diamond Baseball Holdings is the new owner. It says the company operates other minor league baseball clubs that are affiliated with Major League Baseball. Bob and Joan Lozinak established the team 25 years ago. The statement said more than 7 million fans have attended games at Peoples Natural Gas Field.

Charity golf outing, mini-golf bar crawl coming to Johnstown

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — A charity golf outing, and mini-golf bar crawl, is coming to Johnstown to raise money for military members and their families. The "Special Operations Cup" is a modified-scramble style golf tournament, with proceeds going toward the Special Forces Foundation, a non profit that supports green berets and their families, as well as Gold Star families, which are families that lost a loved one while serving in the military.

Steelers release veteran WR Allen Robinson

PITTSBURGH (WJAC) — According to multiple reports, the Pittsburgh Steelers are releasing veteran wide-receiver Allen Robinson. NFL Insider Adam Schefter says the decision will save Pittsburgh approximately $10 million in cap space. The Steelers traded for Robinson last offseason, adding a veteran presence to the receiver room. Robinson played in all 17 games last season for Pittsburgh, catching 34 passes for 280 total yards but no touchdowns. The 30-year-old wideout previously played for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears and the LA Rams.

This Sunday, they'll do that again. 6 News spoke with those involved in the march and about the legacy she leaves. February 1987 in Antis Township, a baby girl is found dead in a plastic bag, next to a dumpster. Over three decades later, nobody knows her name or who she is — even after DNA testing.

Community unites to help Centre County family reunite with their dog

STATE COLLEGE -- Residents of Centre County worked together to help bring a family’s dog back home earlier this week, and now the family wants to thank the thousands of people that came together who helped them. The Giardano family said it took a team of people and some high-tech gadgets to bring their dog back home. However, they truly believe that it was their prayers that kept their dog, Poncho, alive after he spent weeks outside in subfreezing temperatures.
