Woman pleads guilty in connection to drug overdose death in Elk County

RIDGWAY - A Byrnedale woman has pleaded guilty in connection with an overdose death Monday. Elk County District Attorney Shawn McMahon said Allison Miller, 29, pleaded guilty to conspiracy for drug delivery resulting in death. McMahon said she was sentenced to four to 10 years in prison. Miller and Theresa Sample, 27, were charged in February in the March 2017 death of Kaitlyn Buerk, Miller's sister and Sample's cousin. According to police, Miller bought 20 bags of what she believed was heroin from a man in Pittsburgh.

4 women stole nearly $2K worth of items from Altoona Boscov's

LOGAN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WJAC) — Four women from Westmoreland County have been charged after police say they stole nearly $2,000 worth of items from an Altoona Boscov's. According to the Logan Township Police Department, Courtney Jording, Terra Irwin, Melissa Irwin and Maryah Irwin entered the Boscov's on Falon Lane with empty bags Thursday. Police say the four women then put 59 items worth a combined $1,948.90 into their bags and left the store.
