Johnstown Airport receives funding for new hangar; SFU to collaborate through new program

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — PennDOT has announced a nearly 10-million-dollar state investment in projects at ten airports across the state for facility improvements. The John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport is getting over one million dollars in funding for site preparation for a new hangar at the airport. Airport manager Cory Cree says Saint Francis University will be developing an "aircraft maintenance program" at the airport, where students can learn how to become aircraft mechanics.

Steelers sign veteran linebacker Kwon Alexander to 1-year deal

Pittsburgh (WJAC) — The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed free agent linebacker Kwon Alexander to a one-year deal. Alexander, who is entering his 9th season in the NFL, is coming off of a breakout year with the New York Jets. He has played in 95 career games, recording 12.5 sacks, 8 interceptions, 11 forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries. Camp Cadet helps teach kids about law enforcement, self discipline

SCHELLSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — Kids in Bedford County got a first hand look at what it's like to work in law enforcement. This week, state and local law enforcement agencies held Camp Cadet at Camp Living Waters in Schellsburg. This is the 29th year the camp has been held in Bedford County. Organizers say the free camp is designed for kids between the ages of 12 to 15 and is not a program for troubled youth.

WASHINGTON (TND) — George Washington University (GWU) associate law professor Melinda Roth expressed her outrage with student protesters in a fiery Facebook post last week, urging them to leave their campus encampments and return to their dorms. GWU is one of many colleges facing mass protests in recent weeks as tensions over the conflict in the Middle East boil over. The school’s president on Sunday said GWU now needs the help of local police to restore law and order.
