JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio (WTOV) — Hitting the road for Memorial Day weekend? AAA predicts this holiday weekend to see the second-highest travel numbers since 2000. Around 44 million people are expected to travel 50 miles or more, whether that's by car, train, or plane. That is a 4% increase from last year.

HUNTINGDON -- It was one of the biggest manhunts of the time. On May 11, 1966, Peggy Ann Bradnick was abducted after getting off the school bus in Shade Gap by a man with a sawed off shotgun. She spent eight days with William Hollinbaugh, now dubbed "8 days of terror." She was beaten, abused and starved at just 17 years old.

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — The Holiday High School Shootout is underway at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena, and basketball has a long, rich history there.
It was called Pennsylvania's first and the nation's finest, and that it was. Beginning in 1949, the Cambria County War Memorial Invitational Basketball Tournament attracted the nation's top players and teams.
That long list includes 1954 tournament most valuable player Wilt Chamberlain of Philadelphia Overbrook.
Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — On Thursday, Governor-elect Josh Shapiro announced some of the individuals who will be appointed to his administration.
Among them is Centre County Commissioner Michael Pipe, who will serve as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Public Safety.
Pipe has served as county commissioner since 2012.
"During his time on the Board of Commissioners, Pipe oversaw the multi-stage upgrade of the countywide 9-1-1 radio emergency communications system, expanded the regional emergency services training site for first responders and emergency personnel, supported reforms resulting in a 50% reduction in returning citizens at the Centre County Correctional Facility, and championed funding for the County’s Central Booking Center, which supports local law enforcement,"
CLEARFIELD, Pa. (WJAC) — Clearfield could be the next county in Pennsylvania to establish a drug court. Although, there's some disagreement over how it would operate.
6 News spoke with some of the county commissioners and the district attorney about the plan.
Two of the Clearfield County Commissioners told 6 News on Wednesday that the idea was prompted by the recent settlement of a 2018 suit against big pharmaceutical companies, which Clearfield and other counties will receive funds from.
CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Crews from multiple counties responded to an early morning fire in Cambria County Tuesday.
According to county dispatchers, the blaze was called in shortly after 6 a.m.
Glendale Fire Chief Adam Rydbom says crews arrived to the 100 block of Market St. in Reade Township to find flames coming out of the two-story building.
According to dispatchers, the Fallentimber home was abandoned, so no one was inside.
HUNTINGDON -- 6 News has an update on a story we've been following in Huntington County.
Ten dogs continue to recover after they were found living in filth.
The dogs were discovered during a drug bust in Mifflin County, but have been in the care of the Huntingdon County Humane Society.
According to volunteers at the Humane Society, when the dogs arrived they were in pretty rough shape.

Clearfield Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Clearfield Fire Department say a man was hospitalized Tuesday following a house fire in Clearfield Borough.
Officials say the blaze broke out at a home along West Front Street, around 11:30 a.m., and was called in by a local sheriff's deputy.
Investigators say crews arrived on scene and observed smoke and flames coming from the home.
Fire officials say crews were able to extinguish the flames quickly but a male resident was transported to UPMC Mercy for treatment of injuries sustained in the blaze.
Johnstown, Pa — According to the Washington Post, there was more than 100,000 drug overdose deaths reported in the United States last year.
Since then, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved a new nasal spray – in an effort to help curb the opioid epidemic.
The new medicine is called Opvee – an official 6 News spoke with compared this new drug to Narcan.
“There is a new tool on our arsenal against the opioid overdose epidemic,” said Jerome Adams, the former U.
