Graffiti Highway in Centralia to be torn up

CENTRALIA, COLUMBIA CO. (WOLF) — Graffiti Highway in Centralia is being torn up today, according to residents.
The highway, which closed after an underground mine fire back in 1962, continues to draw crowds due to its unique spray painted look.
The highway has drawn tourists for years, regardless of the 'No Trespassing Sign' posted.
One resident says people have been getting hurt on the property, giving owners another reason to 'demolish' it.
Unfortunately, crowds are part of the issue surrounding coronavirus outbreaks, forcing the highway to be torn up and hopefully deter tourists from congregating.
A resident also mentioned that the crowds got as large as 100 people last week.
